Auburn

Auburn has been named the endurance capital of the world and there’s good reason for that! Each year many outdoor events are held in this foothill town including the Tevis Cup; one of the world’s best tests of true horsemanship. The Tevis Cup Ride is the founding modern-day equestrian event of its kind in the world. This event starts in Squaw Valley and ends in Auburn. Another is the Western States Endurance Run it’s one of the oldest ultra-trail events in the world and certainly one of the most challenging. Both of these events are 100 miles. These are extreme of course but there’s many other events from running to mountain biking in the area; it’s truly a great place to live if you’re into the outdoors. The American River runs through the canyons near Auburn; the North Fork and the North Fork of The North Fork. Lake Clementine’s not far up the river and is a beautiful foothills lake and nice to kayak on in the early morning.

Auburn is a rural community with Historic Old Town, Downtown and North Auburn. There’s much history is this area, and again, you’re within ½ to 1 hour from Roseville and Rocklin depending on the location you live.
